An Ancient Type of Hoon Payon Amulet by Phra Ajarn

The modern practice of making Hoon Payon to sell started with Ajarn Loy around a hundred years ago but this animist spirit has been called upon for protection since before recorded history. This odd construction is one of the ancient types rarely seen today, which looks like a surrealist camel and i have seen old examples for the home. What I have not seen is this type in an amulet before, and trust Phra Ajarn O to know how to do this, his knowledge is astonishing.

The Hoon Payon carries an animist spirit that serves to protect the owner by creating a second body that is attacked by any malicious forces instead of the bearer. This rare example has been made from binding sticks with Sai Sin thread and the ones I have seen are all made with this pattern and constructed with kata. Phra Ajarn O has added his photograph to the front and the back carries three Takrut, a Takrut sheet and some shredded money. A Hoon Payon generally has no face, which is so that no one can attack him to gain entry because he cannot be recognised. This bodyguard has a real sense of life and is a potent force.

The Hoon Payon protects against black magic and anyone who wishes you harm, all bad thoughts or curses will bounce back to your enemy and by doing this, he generally helps the good fortune flow. It often also allows good fortune to flow, which may have been held up by negative influences. He should receive regular offerings of food, water, rice wine and cigarettes.

Measures 1.8″- and comes with Phra Ajarn’s card and kata.

Forceful magic.
